1.0 - Introduction

After emerging victorious from a court case in the King's Ransom quest, it seems the court has some more cases for you to participate in. To start this Distraction & Diversion, you will need 65 Attack to prosecute, 65 Defence to defend and must have completed King's Ransom. Much of this activity takes place in the court house located in Seers' Village. There will be a starter case for you to solve when you first start, involving the Mugger (level 6) who has apparently attacked an infamous unwise gambler named Roger Murray.

To start any case, you will need to take some Court summons to the Clerk who is found in the lobby of the court house (you do not need summons for your starter case). Choose to start the case, and you will then need to choose whether to prosecute for Attack experience, or to defend for Defence experience. He will then instruct you to take some documents from the filing cabinet next to him. Search the cabinet and you will retrieve the files that are relevant to the case you are investigating.

2.0 - The summons

As previously mentioned, you will require some Court summons to begin any case. Court summons can be obtained in four different ways:

  • Monster drop - many monsters will have a random chance of dropping one when killed
  • Treasure trail reward - all level clues may contain one
  • Opening Caskets - Caskets obtained from Big net fishing, certain monster drops or from the kingdom of Miscellania may contain one. This is the easiest method of retrieving summons as the rate is extremely common
  • Pickpocketing NPCs - Guards, Knights, Paladins etc. may yield one when their pockets are picked at random

Note: Court Cases may only be completed once every two weeks. You can still obtain Court Summons during this period, however they will have a waiting period written on them.

3.0 - Cases

In each case, you can choose to either prosecute the accused for Attack experience or defend for Defence experience. Depending on which case you will participate in, you will receive experience in the chosen combat skill and may receive other miscellaneous items. It may also be helpful to wear a Ring of charos(a) to understand the personalities of the members of the jury better. These are a list of cases that you can be involved in:

Note: Do NOT give up on your case or you will lose your Court summons and will need to obtain another one by the methods listed above.
