Clan CampEdit This Entity
Since the beginning, clans have been around as part of the RuneScape gaming community. In order to support the management of clans, a new area and various features have been added. This area is known as the Clan Camp, and in there, clans may be registered and managed, and members can be recruited with more ease. There are many features in-game, some of which also link outside of the game to the RuneScape website and forums, so clans can see how they are ranked compared to the rest of the world's other clans.
The Clan Camp is located just south of Falador. This is the location where clans are formed, as well as where you receive the cloak and vexillum stand of your clan. It also offers other features, such as a tent for public or private clan meetings.
| NPC/Place | Location | Information |
|---|---|---|
| Sergeant-at-Arms | ![]() |
Teaches you about rated Clan Wars and how your clan statistics are affected. The Rcw badge and Rcw rules are also obtained by speaking to the Sergeant-at-Arms in the Clan Camp. |
| Captain of the Guard | ![]() |
Once you have registered or joined a clan, you can obtain the Clan cloak from Captain of the Guard which represents your clan. |
| The Scribe | ![]() |
Registers clans by handing out Clan charters to players, who must then use it on 4 other clan founders and take it back to him. Once you have joined or registered your clan, he will give you a Clan vexillum. |
| Clan meeting tent | ![]() |
For clans to have public meetings where they are visible to everyone else currently around the tent in the camp, or private meetings where they enter an area that only themselves can access. |
Located in the middle of the Clan Camp are the Meeting Tent and Noticeboard. The Meeting Tent is used as a discussion place for clans. When you enter the Meeting Tent you are given the option of entering the public Tent or going into a private Tent. The public Tent is where anyone can go, the private Tent is reserved only for your clan. What is so special about the Meeting Tent? It has a poll box where you can hold a poll for any clan decisions with the whole clan.

The Noticeboard is just that, a noticeboard for your clan. Any admin of your clan can edit the board while adding different events to it. Up to eight events can be added at a time on the noticeboard.
To start a clan, talk to the Scribe, and ask him about starting a clan. After some dialogue, he gives you a scroll, which must be used on four players. Once the four names are on the charter, bring it back to the Scribe and use it on him. Upon giving him the completed charter, you will be asked to name your clan.
Note: All five players must remained logged in and within the Clan Camp area for the duration of the creating of the clan. If any player logs out or leaves the area, their name will be removed from the charter and you will have to start over.
To recruit clan members, you will have to go into your clan options as administrator and click on the invite and then on the player. If you wish to recruit players you have a few options. You can place your newly acquired vexillum almost anywhere in RuneScape as long as it isn't too close to another vexillum. Once you plant it in the ground others can look at it and they recieve the following information. If you have a clan event coming up soon, number of clan members, your clan colors and clan motto. Along with what your cloak design looks like.

You can customize your newly created clan by going to the Clan Settings interface found in the Clan Chat tab. Here, you can adjust your clan's motive, colours, and motto. Your motto can be up to 80 characters and should give an idea of what your clan is all about. Your motive and colours are both used as visual representations for your clan, visible on your clan vexillum and clan cloak. Also available from the Clan Settings interface are the abilities to change your clan's time zone, world, and if you are currently recruiting.
Of course, this isn't the only way to recruit for your clan. You can also use the newly formed clan forum. While this "forum" isn't in the RuneScape offical forums, it is located on the RuneScape website. Each clan has one and it can be used to see the number of clanmates each clan has, along with the clans stats; Total experience, Kill/Death ratio, Total level.
The clan hiscores are found on the RuneScape website and contains information about all the clans that are registered at the Clan Camp. The hiscores include Total combat level, Total XP gained, Kill/Death ratio and number of clan members. Players are able to sort them by any category.
Each clan has their own forum. Clan administrators can sticky, delete and lock topics on the forums. Each forum is exclusive to the clan. When posting a topic, you can chose wether to keep the topic public or exclusive to clan members. You also have the ability to link to the RuneScape Official Forums, personal hiscores, the Knowledge base, Adventure logs, clan pages and clan hiscores.
The clan homepage shows all sorts of information on the clan. This information includes an introduction which can be set by clan leaders, an overview on clan members, upcoming events and active forum topics. This page also includes the number of clan mates, the total average level, the kill/death ratio and the total xp earned by the clan.
