Polypore DungeonEdit This Entity
This dungeon is located underneath the depths of the River Salve. The skinweaver, who is found dwelling at the bottom of the dungeon, used her powers with fungi, growing them all over the beasts inside the cave which makes them resistant to melee and Ranged attacks. Using Magic is the best option. The monsters, which there are a variety of different kinds, can drop flakes that can be woven together to produce strong armour for mages.
The location of the dungeon is north of the Duel Arena. In order to access the cave from there, you must travel northeast of the Mage Training Arena, in which you will come across a small island with a cove leading into the dungeon. There is also another option by traveling through fairy rings using the code BIP, which will teleport you right next to the cave.
There are a bunch of monsters that you can tackle inside the dungeon. The bonus is they are all non-aggressive. Some low as level 60 Magic requirement, with some as high as level 95 Slayer as a requirement. Polypore monsters are available through slayer assignments.

The main strategy for killing these monsters are magic since they are resistant to melee and ranged attacks. With the use of some Neem oil, which you can acquire by gathering Neem drupes as drops and using a Pestle and mortar with an Empty jug, it reduces thier resistance to your non-magical attacks.

Using Neem oil can help yield more flakes and spores per drop. They also disable the monster's poison attack for about 20 seconds |

Here you can use a basic mage gear setup, depending on how much money you can spend on certain items. The generic setup is ahrim's with a Staff of light. The necklace can be an Amulet of fury or an Arcane stream necklace from Dungeoneering. The best option for boots are Infinity boots. The gloves can be from the Dominion tower or just basic Barrow's gloves. The shield slot can hold either an Arcane spirit shield or a simple god book to increase your attack bonuses. As for the ring, you can choose whichever option you want.
As for the inventory, you can choose a basic setup with Prayer potions, Magic potions, and a few Sharks. Of course, runes are required since you plan on maging. Use the highest spell you can (fire surge for high levels and fire blast/wave for lower levels). If you are level 92 Summoning or higher, you can go ahead and summon a Wolpertinger, which can give you mage boosts. You may also bring the Neem oil along if you plan on using it.
There are a few techniques you can take about killing these. The most used technique (and probably by far the best) is safe spotting. You can use the scenery and the environment to attack the monsters from a safe distance without them coming close to you. By doing so, first use your Neem oil on the monster you are going to attack, this will give you time to find a safe-spot without having them attack you constantly by their poison. Once you find a spot where you can attack from a safe distance, continue attacking until you kill it.
Here is a picture that might help you out with safe-spotting using the environment. Remember to use the Neem oil first so that the monster doesn't attack you with it's constant poison.
In this dungeon, there are many different unique drops that you can only acquire by killing the monsters here. The monsters drop a powerful staff that can be charged to use during combat with the use of the Magic skill. Not only do they include the stick to the staff, but flakes which you can make powerful armour sets out of. They also drop a number of various items that can be made for profit.
