The Ourania Cave holds one of the strongest altars in RuneScape: the Zamorak Mage Institute (ZMI) altar. This altar is only available to members and is most useful for players who wish to powertrain. It is estimated that this altar gives two-times the experience you would get from a normal altar. The runes obtained when crafting with this altar are random, though the higher the level, the better the runes received.

When runecrafting, there is a long and a short path from the cave entrance to the altar. The short path has Zamorak mages that attack you upon entering (pray range when running in is the best way to go although they use all three types of attack), whereas the long path is completely safe. There is also a banker at the entrance of the cave, but he charges 20 of any rune each time you open your bank.

The cave entrance is located south-west of West Ardougne and west of the Battlefield of the Khazard and gnomes. One of the fastest and easiest ways to get to this cave is by using lunar magic and using the Ourania teleport, where you can then walk to altar.
