1.0 - Introduction
There are many types of special attacks (a.k.a spatk or spec); from temporary boosts in stats, to strikes dealing higher damage than normal.
In the combat interface of these weapons, you will notice a special attack bar. If you click on this bar, your character will initiate the weapons special attack. The special attack bar will drain by a certain percentage (depends on the weapon used). If you use all of your special attack bar, it will take five minutes to replenish.
Along with many other things, special attacks in duelling have an option to be turned off. If you do not wish to duel using special attacks, click on "No Sp. Attacks" on the interface.
Below is a list of the weapons that have a special attack assigned to them. Animated images are included to give you an idea of what each special attack looks like. Each weapon drains a different percentage of the special attack bar. This means that if you use too much of the special bar, you won't be able to cast the special attack again, until it's replenished.
2.0 - Dragon Weapons
Dragon weapons can be difficult to attain without purchasing them, as many are rare drops and the remainder are rewards from increasingly difficult quests. Dragon weaponry is widely used by players because of its stats and their universal ability to use special attacks. The special attacks of Dragon weapons vary in their effects, often they will increase the strength of attacks, or affect the stats of the user or an opponent in combat. A devastating slash through your opponent. The dragon halberd is a very powerful weapon. It's special attack hits with increased speed and strength. For larger monsters (who take more than two spaces), the halberd sweeps back and forth to do additional damage. This is multi-combat as well, so it will inflict damage to many opponents on one square. |

3.0 - Ranged Weapons
Ranged weapons capable of special attacks come from a variety of sources in RuneScape. The special attacks for these items will often increase the speed or power of hits, sometimes also adding abilities such as the Magic level reduction ability for the Seercull bow.

4.0 - Miscellaneous Weapons
Many of these weapons are attained through quests, however they can also be attained as drops by specific monsters. The ability of these weapons varies heavily, the Abyssal whip, Dragonfireshield and Barrelchest anchor are the strongest in the group. Certain special attacks, such as the Brine sabre's and the Ivandis weapons' are useful in specific circumstances where other weapons are at a disadvantage.

5.0 - God Weapons
Several weapons have alignments to specific Gods. Most of these weapons are exceptional, with potent special attacks and very high stats for combat. The Ancient Mace is unique for being quite easy to attain in comparison, but it by far the weakest of any god related weaponry capable of using special attacks. All of these weapons can be used for protect in the God Wars Dungeon according to their alignment.

5.1 - Godswords
The Godsword was a weapon fought over by the gods of RuneScape in the God Wars. Armadyl, Saradomin, Zamorak and Bandos all created their own hilts for the weapon and when attached to the blade each hilt gives the weapon a different special attack. The weapon is well suited to player vs player combat of all kinds. Since it lowers defence first, the special attack is dangerous to most pures - as it will start lowering their strength levels quickly. Not only is the weapon good for duelling, or PKing - but it can be helpful to take out high level players at minigames such as Castle Wars and the Fight Pits. |
6.0 - PVP World Weapons
These weapons are attained on PVP worlds only, but are capable of being used on normal worlds as well. Due to their significant stat increases these weapons are catered to aiding PKers in combat. These weapons deteriorate throughout their use, meaning they can only last an hour of use in combat.
