RuneScape Distractions and Diversions

If you ever want to do something different, try a Distraction and Diversion! They all occur at different times, but have great rewards!

Whilst exploring the game and venturing through RuneScape, you may encounter frequently changing events around the land. An eccentric circus moves between twelve towns every week, meteorites (or rather Shooting Stars) sporadically fall on RuneScape all day long every day, and routinely ten penguin operatives hide at different locations in the landscape every seven days. Each of these quirky events offers experience and item rewards for all players to enjoy to some degree.

Balthazar Beauregard's Big Top Bonanza (Circus) Perform for the audience by shooting targets, using magic, or walking the rope to earn rewards. Frequency: Weekly Location: 12 cities around RuneScape Reward: Magic, Agility, Ranged, Firemaking, and Thieving XP

Penguin Hide and Seek Find hidden penguins around RuneScape in this epic sized hide-and-seek. Frequency: Weekly Location: Several large areas in RuneScape Reward: XP in any skill of choice or Coins

Champions' Challenge Fight weak and innocent creatures and you may be challenged by the champion of the race! Frequency: Anytime Location: Champions' Guild Reward: Constituion XP and Slayer XP

Evil Tree Chop away at the evil tree with your hatchet or light it on fire. Frequency: Every 2 hours, maximum of two trees per day Location: Outside various cities Reward: Woodcutting, Farming and Firemaking XP

Shattered Heart You may randomly find strange rocks when training your skills. Pair them up and put them together. Frequency: Once a week (rebuilding the statue) Location: Varrock Museum Reward: XP in the skill involved

Tears of Guthix Collect tears in a bowl given to you by Juna. Frequency: Weekly Location: Lumbridge Caves Reward: XP in lowest skill

Shooting Star Mine meteorites and then speak to the alien inside for a reward. Frequency: Every 2 hours, Once a day for rewards Location: Anywhere Reward: Mining XP + assorted items from Stardust

Phoenix Lair Dungeon Locate the Phoenix deep within its lair, and help it with its rebirth cycle. Frequency: Daily Location: South of Piscatoris Fishing Colony Reward: Slayer, Firemaking, Fletching, and Crafting XP, Phoenix feathers, Cute/Mean Phoenix hatchling (rare occurrence)

Fish Flingers Determine the perfect tackle and catch as much fish as possible in 15 minutes. Frequency: Every 90 minutes, maximum of 10 Tournaments per week. Location: Near the Fishing guild, North of Ardougne Reward: Tokens, Medals, and Fishing XP

Familiarisation Locate an active obelisk, project your mind into the spirit plane and collect Spirit shards. Frequency: Weekly Location: Any Mini obelisk in RuneScape Reward: Box of summoning ingredients OR triple charm drops for 40 minutes

Court Cases Fight a court case on behalf of the accused or against them. Frequency: Whenever you find a court summons. Location: Court house in Seers' Village Reward: Attack XP, Defence XP, Barrister's wig

	Ancient Effigies Find an Ancient effigy and use your skill power to fulfill its purpose. Frequency: Random Location: Anywhere in RuneScape Reward: 15,000 experience Starved ancient effigy 20,000 experience Nourished ancient effigy 25,000 experience Sated ancient effigy 30,000 experience Gorged ancient effigy Dragonkin lamp

Troll Invasion Help fight off the invasion of trolls or help repair the castle from the oncoming assault. Frequency: Any time Location: Near the Warrior's Guild Reward: An experience tome only once a month

Big Chinchompa Feed the Chinchompa so it goes back to sleep Frequency: Twice a Day Location: Headquarters - Tree Gnome Stronghold Reward: Hunter XP, Private Hunting Ground Tickets

The Pit Impress the Talent scout Location: Agility courses throughout RuneScape Reward: Agility XP, Gorilla mask

God Statues Help Copernicus Glyph build statues Frequency: Monthly Location: Lumbridge, Taverley, Canifis, Gu'Tanoth Reward: Construction XP, Slayer XP, Prayer XP
