On September 15th, 2008 Jagex released the quest Summer's End. The quest was a requirement to battle one of the most deadly bosses existing in the lands of RuneScape. This beast was called "Corporeal Beast". The Corporeal Beast has a combat level of 785, with a grand total of 20,000 life points. His weakness is the 'stab' attack, and he is the most deadly undead spiritual monster existing.
The monster has a maximum melee hit of 510, a maximum Ranged hit of 550 and a maximum Magic hit of 650. It resides in a multi-combat area, so it can be fought in teams. It has extremely high Defence and Life points, making it almost impossible for players to kill by themselves.
You do not get a gravestone when dying in the lair. The Beast's soul devouring powers will prevent you from having a gravestone. Remember not to bring anything too expensive, and always bring Teleporting Tablets or Runes for quick escape.
As stated, the Corporeal Beast is well known to be the second hardest boss possible on Runescape to solo. We suggest you join teams or clans when attempting to fight this boss, as it will be extremely difficult in pursuing this on your own. Below are the advised statistics.
It is not recommended to use Magic on the Corporeal Beast because Magic isn't the most effective skill against him. Using Melee followed by range are the advised tactics to take down this beast.
Note: These are only the minimum requirements that our staff has suggested. A few selected players have attempted the Corporal Beast with 80- Ranged. Having a higher ranged/prayer/defence level will be to your advantage. The higher your ranged level, the longer you will survive. Your trip depends on how many teammates you have, your levels, and your set-up.

Alright. You've considered meleeing the Corporeal Beast. This tactic only works if you're going with a team. The players who chose to melee the beast should be right beside it, and have Protect from Magical Attacks activated. The Rangers should be at the back, right behind the melee team. First off, you need to keep Protect from Magical Attacks prayer on at all times. It's recommended you play in a small screen, rather then fullscreen, so you have quick re-action to your food and inventory. Simply keep your life points above 600.

Ranging the Corporeal Beast is extremely effective. You can pray against the beast and you can manage to hit very high with the bolts. It's suggested to bring a Ranging Potion to increase your Range.
To begin, have your Protect from Magical Attacks prayer on, at all time. Using Eagle Eye is an option, although it will drain your prayer faster. Before you enter the cavern, have your prayer on, and make sure you pot before going in. As soon as you enter, be ready to fight it. Keep your mouse near the food, and the potions. If you run out of food, quickly teleport out of there, because there are no gravestones that will protect your items.
| The Splash Attack Style 1 | ||
![]() |
Attack Style: | Magical |
| Max Hit | 550 | |
| Effect: | This attack was made specifically to take out multiple players at once, first hitting the targeted player with devastating force, then splashing into multiple areas covering a massive range of ground. Any players standing beside the point of impact(s) are damaged. | |
| The Status Reducer Attack Style 2 | ||
![]() |
Attack Style: | Magical |
| Max Hit | 600 | |
| Effect: | This attack is capable of dealing a powerful blow, as well as reducing the statistics of your Magic, Summoning, and Prayer. It is wise to make sure your Prayer is high in case of being dealt a severe blow that might reduce you to 0 Prayer. However there isn't much you can do about the Summoning and Magic reduction. | |
| The KillerAttack Style 3 | ||
![]() |
Attack Style: | Magical |
| Max Hit | 650 | |
| Effect: | This is arguably the Corporeal Beast's most destructive attack, capable of dealing 650 Damage with a well placed shot. Not much can be said about this attack except that when it unleashes its fury, watch out. | |
| The Claw Attack Style 4 | ||
![]() |
Attack Style: | Melee |
| Max Hit | 550 | |
| Effect: | The Corporeal Beast is more inclined to use this attack when you are in front of him rather than a destructive blow from its arsenal. But don't take this attack lightly; it can easily strike you for more than 400+ life points without breaking a sweat. | |
| The Trample Attack Style 5 | ||
![]() |
Attack Style: | Melee |
| Max Hit | 500 | |
| Effect: | The Corporeal Beast's latest technique in its arsenal of mass-destruction. Players are no longer safe from harm when dancing under the Beast, as it will literally trample you under its massive feet, dealing inhuman amounts of damage to anyone standing underneath the beast at the time of impact. | |
You could walk throughout the wilderness and make your way there, but that is highly dangerous. The best method of getting to the Corporal Beast now is using a Games Necklace and choosing the option for the Corporal Beast. This necklace is also very useful for banking, which has two options for doing so.

A: Certainly, but the Corporeal Beast may devour your summoning familiar when he attacks you.
A: No you don't. Jagex upped the timer on the time your items stayed on the ground from 1 minute to 3 minutes however.
A: No, you will receive a message saying the Beast is too big, although you can stun the Dark Energy Core.
A: Yes, you can, however it is not advised.
