You need to feed your crab raw fish when it's hunger level is high. After it grows into a full grown crab you will still need to feed it raw fish. The giant crab can now be placed in the pet house of the menagerie, (37 construction required) the giant crab will not gain hunger while in the pet house. The baby varient can not be placed in the pet house.
