Next week, we'll find out details about how to participate in the beta program for the upcoming RuneScape combat system revamp. For now, all we have is a date for when the beta will begin: June 25th. There will probably be more than one beta because Jagex have said that 25th June is their first beta test. Rumours are saying that RuneScape's upcoming combat system will resemble other MMO's (such as World of Warcraft's) with an action bar and possibly hotkeys to activate those actions and possibly queue them up.

Currently there are several views: some people are worried that this change will make RuneScape too much like other MMO's and take away something that makes RuneScape unique and special. Others believe that the combat system is broken and needs to be fixed, and welcome any change. Then there are people that are saying that an action bar isn't the right way to fix the combat system. Some people are also wondering if the new system will make combat less random and more skill based.
