(During the quest) Collect the red mist it drops in the nearby bottles. You need 3 bottles to pass the doors. After the quest, they are pretty good experience, as the altar is by the entrance ladder.

After completing Defender of Varrock, you will need to speak to Hartwin if you wish to kill Armoured Zombies.

Tactics

Melee is recommended when fighting these. They are not very strong in terms of combat and are located in a single-combat area. Using a Salve amulet will help you kill them much quicker. Use prayers such as Piety to boost your effectiveness against them. There is an altar right outside the first hallway where you can recharge your Prayer points.
