They have a "goo" like attack that is supposed to turn players into Yetis, but the tactic doesn't work.

The Gnoeals are responsible for turning Nial into a yeti and supposedly turn all adventurers they meet into yetis with a green goo of some sort. The speed at which they transform is relative to the exposure. Nial was hit by the brunt of the attack and thus transformed immediately while Vargas was only hit by a small amount and so was able to stave off a full transformation for many years.

The Yetis and Gnoeals will occasionally attack each other, similar to the God Wars dungeon.

Tactics

They usually are surrounded by Yetis, and they have a magical based attack. It is suggested that players with a high defence level use dragonhide with magic protection prayers. If you have a lower defence level, it is advised to wear dragonhide armour with melee protection prayer against the Yetis.
