Tactics
Method 1: High magic defence.The most common method is to use armour such as black dragonhide, Karil's or Armadyl armour along with other armours that provide some magical defence. Aquanites are weak to stab/range attacks, so weapons such as a Leaf-bladed sword or a Zamorakian spear are most effective, although a Abyssal whip or godsword can be used. A summoning level of at least 68 is recommended for the Bunyip familiar as the Swallow whole scroll allows you to eat the raw fish that Aquanites drop from time to time. For the higher level summoners, a Unicorn stallion (88 Summoning) can be more useful.
Method 2: Protect from magic.
This is a less common method, but is fairly effective. You do not want complete prayer attire down to the accuracy in Aquanite's attacks when they turn off your protection prayers. Either substitute the leg armour for Proselyte or keep the same attire that you would use for method 1. Randomly during the fights, Aquanite will turn off your protection prayer and often inflict a high amount of damage, when your prayer is turned off, turn it back on again and continue fighting. For this method to be effective, you will need either Bunyips with Swallow whole scrolls or Unicorn stallions with Healing aura scrolls.
