A wall of hands will prevent players from dealing any melee damage to the Necrolord. As it is a magical based monster, magic attacks will not deal much damage and so it is best to use Ranged attacks.The Necrolord uses an earth based spell which can be completely blocked with protect from Magic or deflect Magic, from the Prayer and Ancient curses respectively. He will also use what appears to be a Bind and Entangle spell which will always deal damage, as well as a purple spell that looks like Vulnerability which can be avoided.
As the fight progresses, the Necrolord will summon Skeletal minions. These have low life points and defence, but a high attack and strength so it is suggested to use a melee protection Prayer.
Large amounts of the minions will gather over time and their numbers can be easily reduced by one person using melee or by the use of familiars which fight, such as Bloodragers. Another tactic is to place the Group gatestone outside of the boss door and wait for the minions to die off before going back in to face the Necrolord, who will be fighting alone.
