Tactics

Up close, they will use their melee attacks which can hit up to 391 damage. Even with high defence, they hit hard and often, so be cautious when fighting them with a melee equipment setup. The best method of killing them is to use Ranged and stand away from them, where they will use their Magic attack. This hits less often with a high Magic defence and hits up to 180, less than their melee attack. Their biggest weakness is Sagaie which deal more damage the further away the target is.

When using the Protect from Melee Prayer, they will start to use Magic instead, so attempting to pray against them is an unwise tactic. If you are standing from a distance and are using Ranged with Protect from Magic, you will be whipped by the nearby jade roots for damage between 30-60 damage. This can be stopped by chopping them with a hatchet (level 83 Woodcutting required), but the roots grow back too quickly for this method to be suitable.
