Notes
You must have completed Ritual of the Mahjarrat in order to kill Glacors. They can be found in the cave you found the Stone of jas in, during the Ritual of the Mahjarrat quest. To reach the cave, use the fairy ring in Zanaris and enter DKQ.
You can not fight more than one Glacor at a time, so it is safe to use multi-target abilities such as Chain or Ricochet. If you are of a lower level, bring plenty of prayer potions, the best food you can afford, and a fast teleport to safety (e.g. Teleport to house).Tactics
Glacors are weak to fire spells, so it is highly recommended to attack using the best fire spell you can, such as fire surge.
Glacors attack with only one of two attack styles. The two main attack styles are Ranged, where the Glacor fires single icicles, and Magic, where it shoots glowing orbs instead. If it is using Ranged, it will occasionally fire what looks like multiple icicles fired from both hands that will hit you for a certain percentage of your life points. Step away when it does this attack as it is avoidable. Healing familiars will generally be useful to heal the damage received, especially from the icicle attack if you do not manage to dodge it in time.
When a Glacor is down to half of its life points, it will spawn 3 minions which are named: Sapping glacyte, Enduring glacyte and Unstable glacyte. Attack the Enduring glacyte and step back as far as you can to lure it away, since it receives more damage the further it is from the Glacor that summoned it. You may wish to block the Glacor around a wall or rock when this happens, as it can't be damaged until the three Glacytes have been killed.
Each of these Glacytes have special properties. The Enduring glacyte has increased Defence and reduces the damage of your blows to about a third. The Unstable glacyte regains its health while having a countdown timer (indicated by the bar above it), before exploding when the timer runs out, bringing it down to very low health and damaging all players around it severely. The Sapping glacyte drains Prayer points for every hit it deals.
The Glacor will absorb the properties of the Glacyte you kill last, so for example if the Sapping glacyte is killed before the Enduring and Unstable ones, the Glacor's attacks will drain Prayer points.
Strategies may differ here, but in general it is advised to begin killing the Enduring glacyte first. After the Unstable glacyte does its exploding attack (and gets brought down to low health), focus on killing that one. The aim is to keep the Sapping glacyte alive while the other two are killed, and finally killing off the Sapping glacyte.
The Enduring Glacyte is pretty simple, move it away from the Glacor to damage it; the further away from the Glacor, the more it can be damaged, but don't run too far away or it will run back to the Glacor.
Once all three minions are dead, you can damage the Glacor again. Continue attacking it until it is defeated.
