Notes
The recommended fighting spot is the Taverley dungeon, as it would be unwise to train in the wilderness. In addition, there is a Resource Dungeon in Taverley dungeon that contains Hellhounds. It requires level 55 Dungeoneering to enter and is a good alternative in case other spots are crowded. Bringing a cannon would be ideal, as that way you can kill the Hellhounds faster. However, players will not be appreciative if you use it. They are also a great resource of gold charms. Hellhounds gives 116 Slayer experience while training the Slayer skill.Charm Drop Rates
Tactics
Hellhounds are great for training magic, range and even combat on. The prime location is that of Taverley dungeon, where there are plenty of stalagmites and rocks to hide behind and range or mage them from a safe distance. The fact that all they drop is bones, clues and charms, means they are one of the most popular ways of collecting hard clues. To melee, wear rune armour or better with an Abyssal whip or Dragon scimitar. Guthan armour is also recommended for melee so that you regenerate health while fighting. To range, wear good range bonus armour and wield a crystal bow or a Magic shortbow with iron arrows or better. Stand behind the rocks and stalagmites and range the Hellhounds.
