As with all dragons, you should wear an anti-dragonbreath shield. The max hit shown above is only their max hit using firebreath. Using melee, it is much less. If the Black dragons in the Evil chicken lair are still dropping Black dragon tokens as a part of the Recipe for Disaster quest then it won't drop any other loot.

Black dragons will also drop black dragon tail-bones during the wish list at the end of the quest Fur 'n' Seek. They will not drop this item before you start it or after you finish it.

Tactics

Can be ranged safely in Taverley dungeon. They can also be ranged or attacked with a halberd in the Evil Chicken Lair. An anti-dragon shield or Antifire potions are a must. They have fairly high Defence, so bringing a high bonus boosting setup or potions is advised.
