Part 1:
Receiving Your Task
Step 1
Talk to Kaqemeex at the stone circle north of Taverley.
Talk to Sanfew across from the Taverley pet shop.
You can begin the quest by speaking with Kaquemeex at the stone circle north of Taverley, which is just south of the Hero's Guild. He wants to aid in the fight against the trolls attacking the area, but that wouldn't please their god Guthix, who is the god of balance. Therefore, he requires a potion that will ask of Guthixs' help. The potion Kaqemeex requires is called ointment of imbalance. He will refer you to Sanfew, who will be able to conjure up the potion.
Sanfew is located in the house opposite the Taverley pet store. While talking to him he will give you a list of things he needs in order to make the potion. They are a vial of untainted living water (vial is provided), wandering wyrmwood, and some stone fish scales.
Part 2:
Obtain the Ingredients
Step 2
Fish for stone fish in the lake to the south and use a chisel to recieve stone fish scales.
Pluck leaves from a wandering wyrmwood on the southern shore the lake.
Enter the cave and collect the vial of untainted living water.
Head back to Sanfew
Take the potion to Kaqemeex
After receiving the list of items you need to collect, exit the house and follow the road south until you arrive at a wheat field. On the shore to the east is a sparkling fishing spot. No bait is needed, just a fishing rod. Fish here to get a stone fish. Use your chisel on the fish, or if your chisel is on your toolbelt, select the 'gather scales' option on the fish.
Head a bit further south, still following the shoreline until you come across some walking plants. They will occasionally plant themselves, at which point you won't be able to pick them. When they are moving around, simply click one to pluck some wandering wyrmwood.
Once you've collected the stone fish and the wandering wyrmwood, there's only one last ingredient remaining. Go to the peninsula just north of the wandering wyrmwoods by following the shoreline back around. Enter the cave which contains many Gelatinous Abominations. Go as far south as you can until your arrive at the subterranean spring. Use your vial on the spring to get a vial of living water.
Now that you've gathered all of the materials make your way back to sanfew. Speak to him to give him the ingredients and he'll quickly mix up the potion. Now head back to Kaqemeex and hand over the ointment of inbalance. You'll then enter a cutscene with the ritual taking place and Kaqemeex pouring the ointment over the altar. Congratulations quest complete!
