Part 1:
Releasing The Spirit
Step 1
Follow the spirit.
Enter the Spirit Realm.
Release the spirit girl.
Items needed: Ghostspeak Amulet.
Before you start, make sure that you have your ghostspeak amulet equipped as you will need this on the entire quest. Make your way to wilderness wall and talk to the girl's spirit and then choose to follow her. You'll be taken to the eastern ruins, follow the spirit into the building whilst wearing your ghostspeak amulet and allow yourself to be dragged away.
When you appear inside the Spirit Realm, talk to the spirit who is standing nearby the girl. He will do a series of emotes that you can't understand. You'll need to answer his emotes by doing your own emotes. The emotes listed on the left are those from the spirit and the ones on the right are emotes that can be done to answer him:
Wave - Shrug/Bow/Angry
Cheer - Bow/Yes/Wave
No - Angry/Wave/Cheer
Shrug - No/Yes/Cheer
Bow - Shrug/Yes/No
Yes - Angry/No/Wave
Angry - Bow/Cheer/Shrug
As you do each correct emote, one ring will be taken off the girl. But if you answer an emote wrong, then all the rings will be put back and you will need to start all over. Also, it should be noted that if you didn't see the emote that the spirit did then you can use the 'Think' emote and he'll repeat himself.
Speak to the spirit girl once all the rings are taken off of her. She'll mention a village located to the west, afterwards agree to follow her there.
Part 2:
Helping The Spirit Girl
Step 2
Head to the Ruins
Fill the barrel with water.
Feed the spirit girl.
Fix the wardrobe.
Obtain the doll.
Items needed: Bucket, Hammer, 2 Planks, 4 Steel Nails, Limpwurt Seed, Rake, Seed Dibber.
Once you arrive at the Ruins, speak to the little girl near the farming patch and she'll say something about a beast and a barrel. Ask her to take you back to the Real World and use your empty bucket on the barrel filled with water. Go back to the Spirit Realm and you will notice that the barrel has filled with water now. The spirit girl will use it to wash herself and then she'll walk towards the statue nearby.
Head west and speak to the spirit girl. She'll say that she is hungry and hasn't eaten in a long time. Go back to the Real World and pick the mushrooms off of the hollow log nearby. Once you arrive in the Spirit Realm, she will eat the mushrooms and walk inside a building.
Head west inside the building and speak to her. She will say that she needs some new clothes but she cannot open the wardrobe. Ask her to take you to the Real World and then use your planks on the wardrobe to repair it. You can obtain the planks from around the Ruins and steel nails from the spawn near the farming patch (Picture) and a hammer in the north western room. Go to the Spirit Realm and the girl will change her clothes.
Speak to her now at the farming patch. She will say that she wants her doll that is trapped under the limpwurt plant. Return to the Real World and search a crate nearby for a limpwurt seed (Picture). There is also a rake and seed dibber laying around the Ruins. Clear the weeds from the patch and plant the seed. After about ten or fifteen minutes, the limpwurt plant will finally grow. When it is fully grown, go back to the Spirit Realm and she will retrieve her doll.
Talk to the spirit girl now and she will then reveal to you that her name is Summer and explain that you have restored her soul. However, she says that she can't talk here and requests that you follow her back to the farm.
Part 3:
The Beast
Step 3
Follow Summer home.
Gather bones and a skull.
Feed the altar.
Summon the discs.
Items needed: 5 Bones, Skull, Spirit Wolf Pouch, Desert Wyrm Pouch, Spirit Scorpion Pouch.
Once you arrive at the farm, talk to Summer. She will explain that she was murdered a long time ago and that her spirit got stuck in the Spirit Realm along with the Beast. She then explains that the Beast has been drawing life out of her and that she wants you to stop it. Finally, she says the only way to stop it is by using the discs outside of the farm to channel the energy of newly summoning beings to imprison the Beast. However, to do that you must first feed the altar.
Follow Summer down the ladder and speak to her. Summer will tell you that you need to feed the altar first. If you haven't already, gather some bones from the Real World and pick up the skull that is northeast of the portal that you first accessed the Spirit Realm from. Once you have the items, use them on the altar in the Spirit Realm (if you use them in the Real World then they will turn to ash). With the discs awakened, you can now take on the Beast.
Note: It's likely that you will fail the following method in Step four a few times, so bring more than one pouch for each familiar. Also, if for any reason you have to leave the Spirit World, then you'll have to get back by using the portal in the Ruins (east of the Wilderness Volcano). You will find Summer in the same place as when the quest was started.
Step 4
Power the discs.
Cage the beast.
Speak to the elder spirits.
Go up the ladder and head north. A short cutscene will play with the Beast making his entrance (Picture). Run north a bit more and stand on the spirit wolf disc.
What you need to do is summon your familiar and make sure that it is touching the disc (near the edge works). Sit there and wait for the Beast to come. When he puts one of his feet on the disc, immediately dismiss your familiar and a wave of lightning will attack him (Picture). Beware though that if you let the Beast get too close it will inhale your familiar and you'll need to re-summon it.
After you hurt him with the spirit wolf disc, a new one will appear (Picture). This one will require you to summon and dismiss a desert wyrm familiar while standing on the disc. Finally, a third disc will emerge after you attack him a second time but this disc will require a spirit scorpion familiar.
When you have used all three discs to attack the Beast, three spirits will emerge and trap him inside a cage. Speak to one of the spirits to hear why your attempts at destroying the Beast have only made him stronger. After that, the quest will be completed.
