Part 1: Threat to the Tower

Talk to Archmage Sedridor, Wizard Traiborn, and Wizard Ellaron

Play the organ and retrieve key
Head to the Wizard's Tower, south of Draynor Village, and talk to Ariane. She will be talking to Wizard Valina trying to let her to let her in. Say you will help Ariane with the problem. She will tell you to visit the archmage, but will quickly tell you otherwise when she hears something happening. You will enter a cutscene where Ariane falls to the floor. When you talk to her she will tell you to cast air strike at the vortex. Enter the room and on the west side of the room, pick up the Tower mindspike (air) that is on the floor. Wield it, and cast air strike from you magic spell book and attack the magical vortex. To lure it into the large blue beam at the center of the room stand on the beam and cast air strike at the vortex to drag it in.
Leave the Tower the way you came in, and talk to Ariane who is standing on the bridge. She'll ask you to talk to the wizards around the tower to see what is going on. You need to speak to Archmage Sedridor, Wizard Ellaron, and Wizard Traiborn. All of those can be found on the third level. Talk to each one of them and then return to Ariane outside of the tower. Tell her Wizard Traiborn said something came from the library floor. She then tells you that a key is needed to get into the old tower and that Wizard Ellaron would have it. Go back to the third level and talk to Wizard Ellaron again, he will hint at where the key is hidden, go to the ground floor and search the rotating bookcases for two books.
Right click each of the books to view the diagram. Then go to the south side of the room and play the organ. Play 'B' note 10 times, 'A#' note 7 times, 'G#' and then 'G' note. Then take the key that appears on the interface. Once you have the key, return to Ariane. She'll tell you to meet her on the eastern side of the island.
Part 2: Investigating the Threat
Distract the archmage
Meet Ariane on the eastern side of the island and open the door to the ruins. A rune guardian is blocking further exploration of the ruins and asks you be tested. Say you are ready to be tested. It does not matter what you answer, only your answers will decide what title is available to you after. After answering all the questions you are able to set your title or keep your current one. Enter the door and click on the statue, tell Ariane you are making a bridge. Cross the bridge and continue on down the staircase. When you reach the bottom you'll see many vortexes and Ariane will ask you to trap one in the magical circle she has created. Once you've kept the vortex in the circle for the required amount of time talk to Ariane again. She says you need to head back to Archmage Sedridor and delay him from casting the spell that he plans will rid the tower of the threat.
Leave the ruins and go to the ground floor of the Wizard's Tower. You will see Archmage Sedridor and other wizards performing the Icyenic Purge on the beam. Talking to him won't help distract him, so go back to the organ that you played earlier. Just play any notes this time until you start to distract him. Once the wizard's have finished casting the spell, return to Ariane at the ruin entrance who will reward you for your help.
