Talk to Irena, through the Shantay Pass in southern Al-Kharid.
Skill: 10 Fletching, 20 Smithing.
Item: Desert Robe, Desert Shirt and Desert Boots, 2-3 Waterskins(4), Shantay Pass, 1 Bronze Bar (3-4 may be required in case of failure), 10 Feathers (Extras may be required as well in case of failure), Knife, Hammer, 100GP.
Other: Ability to defeat a Mercenary Captain (Level-47).
- These skills may be temporarily boosted with Stat Enhancers to complete the quest.
- Stat Enhancers can NOT be used on this skill to meet the quest requirements.
For Skill Requirements without either of these pictures, you may or may not be able to use stat enhancers. If you can confirm either way, please submit a correction.
Item: Some Food incase you get hurt, An extra 100GP should you need to buy more waterskins, Energy Enhancing Items (Energy Potions, Strange Fruits, etc).
Don your desert garb and make sure your waterskin is full before heading off into the trackless dunes in search of desert adventure.
Getting the Key to the Mining Camp
Speak to Irena.
Talk to Mercenary Captain.
Talk to Al Shabim, afterwards kill the Mercenary Captain and take his key.
Items needed: Bring all Required and Recommended Items; ensure you have enough Waterskins and a Knife so you don't have to bank.
Be sure you have all the items and go through the Shantay pass and talk to Irena (Picture). She will tell you her daughter has gone missing. Ask her when and what her daughter was doing at that time. Offer to help.
Now go south until you find the mining camp, the entrance is on the west side. If you're worried about getting lost, follow the footprints in the sand (Picture). At the entrance of the camp, find the Mercenary Captain and right-click him to watch (Picture). After you have watched him, talk to him and ask if you can do anything to help. He will tell you to kill Al Zaba Bhasim.
Head west until you find a camp. Find Al Shabim in the big tent (Picture) and he will tell you Al Zaba Bhasim does not exist. Go back to the Mercenary Captain (level-47) and tell him the news and he will attack you. Weaker players may need to use a weapon to kill the captain. His key will automatically appear in your inventory after you kill him.
Getting Access to the Mine
Enter the mining camp.
Speak to a Slave.
Help him and then wear the slave robes.
Enter the mining camp without any weapon or armour equiped. If you equip any armour or weapons while in the camp, you will be jailed. The only exception to this is a pickaxe. To get out of jail, bend the bars in the cell window (Picture) and then escape through the opening. Climb the cliffs to escape (Picture).
Before you go anywhere else, it's suggested you enter the building to the north and go upstairs. Search Captain Siad's table and you will find the jail key. This way, if you get jailed again, you can just open the cell gate with the key.
Talk to the Male Slave and tell him you have just arrived (talk to the one that is walking around the rocks instead of mining them). When he tells of a plan to escape, comment: "That's interesting." He will tell you about his bracelets. Offer to help to free him. If you fail, you will be put in jail. You will have to keep trying until you succeed and get his Slave's Robes and boots in exchange.
Now put on your Slave's Robes and boots and wear them until the end of the quest. Open the large doors and follow the mine around to the first gate. Talk to the guard there. Tell him you want to change mining spots and comment that he's right after he responds. He will tell you to get a pineapple for him.
Speak to Al Shabim.
Distract Captain Siad.
Take the plan from the chest to Al Shabim.
Get out of the mining camp and run west to the Bedabin's Camp. Talk to Al Shabim and he will tell you to steal a plan from Captain Siad to make secret weapons first. He will also hand you Bedabin's key. If you lose Bedabin's key as a result of the guards searching you, you can retrieve it from the desk upstairs near the captain.
Go back to the mining camp and go to the second floor of the jail. Try to open the chest and Captain Siad will stop you. To distract him, you must search his bookcase and notice his love of sailing (Picture). Speak to him again, mention that he has a lot of books; talk about Sailing, then talk about his jib. Now you can open the chest and find the plan inside.
You can also distract the captain by asking for a chat. When chatting with him, choose the option that tells him a dragon just flew past his window or yelling "fire! fire!". He will then be distracted and you will be able to open the chest.
Take the plan to Al Shabim again and he will tell you to make the weapon. Go slightly north and you will find a small tent with an anvil inside. Use the plan with the guard and he will let you in. To make the weapon, use the bronze bar with the anvil and choose to follow the plan. After you are done, talk to Al Shabim again.
Give a pineapple to the Guard who wants it.
Take an empty barrel and use the mining cart.
Speak to Ana.
Now, you should have a pineapple and some bronze darts. Go back to the guard who asks for the pineapple and use the fruit on him. He may ask for another one but ignore him and walk through to the other part of the mine.
Move east and search the barrels until you find one that is empty. Take the empty barrel.
Now search the mining cart to ride on it. You may fall and hurt yourself (Picture).
Go north-west and find Ana (Picture). Talk to her about escaping. After you have spoken to her, use the barrel on her and you will put her in it. If you say the wrong thing to Ana, she will call the guards and you will get thrown in a jail where you need to mine 15 ores to be allowed out.
With Ana in a barrel use the mining cart.
Use Ana in a barrel on the winch.
Outside, take Ana in a barrel and use it with the cart.
Speak with the cart driver and escape.
Speak to Irena.
Go back and use the barrel with Ana inside with the mining cart. Next, ride in the cart yourself to get back.
Warning: If you log out before you have got Ana out of the camp, you will have to redo this part of the quest, so make sure you have enough time to complete this part of the quest before starting it.
When you have completed the cart ride, search the barrels to find the one with Ana in it. Use this barrel on the winch nearby. Let the guard help you. When he begins to ask questions, tell him he's gregarious. If you say the wrong thing, your escape plans will be thwarted, and you will need to start again.
Exit the mine and find the winch outside in the south-west corner of the camp (Picture). Use the winch and you will haul Ana in a barrel up (Picture). Search the barrels again to find the barrel with her inside. Use this barrel with the cart. Talk to the cart driver and say "Nice Cart!". Proceed on to joke with him until he asks you to stop. Select the "Well, it goes like this..." option, and then offer him 10gp to smuggle you out of the camp. If you mess up, talk to him again to restart the chat. If you get sent to jail, Anna will still be inside the cart. You will also have to pay him 100GP (Picture).
Go back to Irena and you will receive your reward!
