Part 1:
Isle Royalty
Step 1
Go to Miscellania, from Rellekka docks.
Talk to King Vargas
Ask to marry one of his children
Items needed: All Items are required except for iron bar and logs.
Speak to the Sailor in the north-western part of Rellekka and he will take you to Miscellania. Head west to the small city, and head into the big building (Picture).
Go to the northern side of the building, and up the stairs. Head south to the Throne Room, and try to open the Throne Room door. The guard will stop you. Speak to him, and tell him you are a member of the Heroes' guild, and he will let you pass.
Speak to King Vargas and tell him you come in search of a quest. He will say that he can no longer rule his kingdom, and that he needs an exceptional soul to be Regent of Miscellania. Choose the "if I may be so bold..." option, and you will go on to tell him you would make a good ruler. He will say that only a member of the royal family can rule Miscellania, and that you would have to marry one of his children. If you are a male character, you will marry his daughter. If you are a female character, you will marry his son.
Part 2:
For the Gents
If you are a male character, read these steps.
Step 2
Talk to Grihm
Talk to Princess Astrid
Speak to Advisor Ghrim, who is just behind the King. Ask him what you're meant to be doing, and he will say you need to negotiate peace with Etceteria by talking to Queen Sigrid of Etceteria. Also ask him if he has any idea how you are supposed to get the princess to marry you, and he'll suggest you talk to her.
Now go to the bedroom to the north with Princess Astrid in it. Speak to her and she will tell you that she is not fond of marrying any of her suitors. She will then say that she will give you a chance if you impress her enough.
Step 3
Talk to Astrid
Ask about archery
Dance for her
Exhaust all other options
Give her some flowers
Give her a bow
Blow her a kiss
Give her a ring and propose
Get to know the princess now. Talk to her and inquire about her archery skills, telling her it is a noble art. Ask her what she thinks of Grihm and you'll find she thinks of him as an uncle, how quaint. Stand in front of Astrid and begin to bust a move or two (use the dance emote) and she'll tell you she loves a man who knows how to dance!
Continue speaking to her until all options have been exhausted, and then give her some flowers (use them with her). Love is in the air, tell her your name and Astrid begins to grow fond of you, calling you dear. Following this, give her your bow and she'll be stunned, asking if they're really for her. Talk to her some more, and then blow her a kiss (use the emote again), this makes her grow even more fond of you! Runescape men sure know how to tune! Now present her with any type of gold-based ring and say it's for her. Congratulations, she wants you now! She'll accept your proposal and ask you tell her father the good news.
Part 2:
For the Ladies
If you are a female character, read these steps.
Step 2
Talk to Ghrim
Talk to Prince Brand.
Speak to Advisor Ghrim, who is just behind the King. Ask him what you're meant to be doing, and he will say you need to negotiate peace with Etceteria by talking to Queen Sigrid of Etceteria. Also ask him if he has any idea how you are supposed to get the prince to marry you, and he'll suggest you talk to him.
Now go to the bedroom to the south with Prince Brand in it. Speak to him and he will tell you that he enjoys poetry. When you say you want to marry him, he says he will give you a chance if you impress him enough.
Step 3
Talk to Brand
Talk to Ghrim
Give Brand flowers
Talk to Ghrim
Cheer or Clap in front of Brand
Give him a cake
Talk to him more
Talk to Ghrim
Blow Brand a kiss
Give him a ring
Get to know the prince now. Talk to Brand, always telling him what he wants to hear. When you've exhausted all the options, go speak to Ghrim, who'll tell you to get some flowers for the prince. A flower girl is located outside the palace near a small hut. Buy some flowers from her for 15gp and head back to the prince, giving him the flowers (use them on him), saying they're for him.
This guy is making it hard for us ladies isn't it! He isn't giving anything away. Talk to Ghrim again and he'll tell you to compliment the prince on his musical abilities. Head back to the prince and use either a clap or cheer emote. You'll soon be giving him your Fremennik name and he'll tell you to call him prince. Again, go back to Ghrim, and he'll say that you seem to have pleased him, and that the prince has a sweet-tooth for cake. Give him the cake and start to charm him again.
You're nearly there, he's grown quite fond of you but he isn't quite ready for marriage. Keep chatting him up and when you've used all the options, go talk to Ghrim again, and he'll say you need an engagement ring. Go to the prince's room and blow him a kiss using the emote. Then give him the ring (use it with him) and then you ask to marry him. He'll accept your proposal and ask you to tell his father the good news.
Part 3:
Peace Negotiations
Items needed: Iron bar, logs
Step 4
Talk to Queen Sigrid of Etceteria (east) about a Peace Treaty.
Talk to King Vargas.
Talk to Sigrid about changing her anthem.
Now that you're set to be wed, exit the palace, and head east past the maple trees and over the bridge. Go inside the castle and to the south side. Climb the staircase, head south to Queen Sigrid. Speak to her and she will ramble on about how busy she is. Eventually you'll begin shouting at her about a Peace Treaty between two great nations, Miscellania and Etceteria.
The Queen will say that last time she met with King Vargas she called him a pompous old fool, and that he then declared war on Etceteria. At the end of the conversation you'll tell her King Vargas wants to negotiate a peace treaty now.
Leave the castle and head west back to to Miscellania and talk to King Vargas. Tell him that the Queen will only sign a peace treaty if Miscellania recognises Etceteria as a sovereign nation. He'll ask you to tell the Queen to change her anthem first, because it's insulting to Miscellanians.
Head back to Queen Sigrid, and tell her that Vargas will sign the treaty if they change their anthem. Sigrid will agree, and will tell you to find a Bard to write a new one.
Step 5
Ask Prince Brand for an anthem.
Have Ghrim fix the anthem.
Give it to Queen Sigrid for a signed treaty.
Tell King Vargas.
This first bard you can think of is the Prince of Miscellania, so head west, go to the south side of the palace on the second floor, and speak to Prince Brand who will begin writing one for you immediately. When he has completed it, he'll give you a copy of it.
Talk to Ghrim before heading back to Etceteria, and he'll make some touch-ups to the anthem (turns out Brand wasn't a very good bard). Head back to Etceteria now with the good anthem, and she'll give you the signed treaty, informing you that King Vargas just needs to sign it now.
Head back to King Vargas, and tell him that you have the treaty. He will say that he needs a bigger pen to sign it.
Step 6
Talk to Derrik, at Blacksmith hut.
Give him an iron bar.
Make giant pen (use log with giant nib).
Leave the castle on Miscellania and head north-east to the icy area. Go into the blacksmith hut and talk to Derrik. Tell him you have a strange request - that you need a bigger nib for a pen. When asked what sort of size, tell him about the size of a helmet.
He will then tell you that he needs an iron bar. Give it to him, and you will receive a giant nib in return. Attach the nib to the log you brought with you to make a giant pen.
Head back to the king, and he will sign the treaty. Then he will ask if his son or daughter has agreed to marry you, at this point the answer is no, and that you need the support of the people.
Part 4:
Gaining Support
Step 7
Talk to Ghrim.
Gain at least 75% support.
Talk to Ghrim.
Talk to Vargas.
Get married.
Speak to Ghrim and ask him how to gain the support of the people. He'll tell you just to help them out a bit, and he can also tell you how much support you currently have. Leave the castle grounds and start gaining support - you will need at least 75% support of the people to get married.
- Gardener Gunnhild: Speak to her and buy a rake for 15gp. Begin weeding. The support is calculated by: 1% = 1.285 weeds (requires 10 farming).
- Lumberjack Leif: Speak to him and start chopping down the maple trees for him. The support is calculated by: 1% per 3 maples
- Miner Magnus: Speak to him, then start mining the coal rocks. The support is calculated by: 1% = 1.285 coal
- Fisherman Frodi: Speak to him, and begin fishing for tuna, lobsters or swordfish. The support is calculated by: 1% = 1.285 fish.
Once you have reached 75% support, you will be told that you have already done more than enough. Speak to Ghrim, and he will tell you to see the King. Speak to King Vargas, and he will say that the population will gladly have you as a ruler. Advisor Ghrim will begin a ceremony and you will become the ruler of Miscellania.
