Skill: 65+ Combat, 43 Prayer
Item: Armour (Rune or better), Weapon (Dragon or better), Food (Lobsters or better), Prayer potions (if you have low Prayer), Games necklace.
Talk to Denulth, at Burthorpe.
Go to Tenzing and buy climbing boots (75000GP).
Go north, climb over rocks and go east to a gate.
Use your games necklace to teleport to Burthorpe, then speak to Denulth. Ask him "how goes your fight with the Trolls?" Denulth will tell you some bad news. Dunstan's son, Godric, has been captured by the Trolls. Ask him if there is anything you can do to help, and he will reply, saying he doesn't even think you could make it up the pass. If you're up for the quest, tell him you'll rescue Godric.
If you don't have any climbing boots then follow these instructions to get them back. Head north-west to Tenzing, and buy some Climbing boots off him for 12GP.(Picture) You do not have to buy the boots that cost 75000GP. Though, after finishing Death Plateau, Dunstan doesn't need to fix the boots, so just buy the boots and proceed on.
Items needed: climbing boots, armour, weapons, food, prayer potions, games necklace.
Go out the north door of Tenzing's house, and climb over the stile. Head north-east until you come to some rocks you can climb over. Wear your Climbing boots and climb over. Once you're over the rocks, you will see a split path.
Head up the east path, and climb over the rocks until you get to a gate (Picture).
Open the gate
Kill Dad (protect from melee)
Exit arena, enter north-west cave.
Exit at northern side of cave.
Open the gate and a message will appear saying no humans will pass without defeating Dad.Talk to Dad, and accept his challenge. Attack Dad (Level-101) whilst using protect from melee, as he can hit up to 270. Stand at the safe spot right next to the gate shown below. When Dad is on low health, he will ask you to stop (Picture). If you want, you can keep killing him, or just leave. If you choose to keep killing him, you will be attacked by a troll spectator (level 71).
When you exit the Arena, there are aggressive Mountain trolls (Level 69 and 71) (Picture). Enter the cave to the north-west(Picture) and head to the northern side of the cave, and exit it (Picture).
Follow path NW until at Mountain Troll camp.
Go north through camp to stronghold entrance.
When you see the Thrower Trolls up on the cliffs turn protect from range on as they deal a lot of damage. After the Thrower Trolls, head south-west, again, still on the outer-most path. Keep going until you come to a Mountain Troll camp. Head north through the camp, up the winding path until you reach the entrance to the Troll Stronghold.Once you're in, you will be amidst Mountain Trolls (Level 69 and 71). Head south, and you will come to a door. Open that door, and head north a bit. You will soon come to a few rooms with Troll Generals (Level-113).
Kill Troll General
Go back through the door, head north until you reach a staircase.
Climb down, unlock door to the east.
Climb down again, pickpocket or kill Twig and Berry for cell keys.
Release Godric and Eadgar.
Go back to Dunstan.
This is the difficult part. You have to kill a Troll General to obtain a Prison Key. Be careful, they hit up to 380. It is recommended to use protect from melee while killing him. Make sure you take at least 10 lobsters or 5 sharks when you go to fight him. Also, you can kill him from behind the counter on the first room on the left or lure it out into a corner where you can safely range it.Now that you have the Prison key, head south back to the door. Now head north until you get to a staircase (Picture). Climb down and unlock the door to the east; your prison key will disappear. Climb down the next set of stairs, walk over to the cells and you will see two guards there, Twig and Berry (Level 71).
Pickpocket Twig to get Cell key 1 and Berry to get Cell key 2 (Picture). If you cannot pickpocket them, you can kill them instead to obtain both keys. Use Cell key 1 to release Godric, and Cell key 2 to release Eadgar. Beware: if you do decide to kill the guards, they can hit hard if you do not wear decent armour. Alternatively you can safe spot the guards from inside one of the open jail cells.
If you don't have a games necklace with you, head south and exit the cave (Picture). Head south-east, and when you reach a fork in the path, head south and climb over the rocks. Now go south-west, back to Tenzing's hut, then back to Burthorpe and talk to Dunstan.
A: This quest used to give a Law talisman as a reward instead of the 2 10,000 XP lamps. You can talk to Dunstan the blacksmith in Burthorpe and he will give you both lamps. The lamps can only be used on skills above level 30.
